SERVICES
Dr. Marinda is a professor and researcher, roles she considers both her favorite and most important. She cherishes the opportunity to teach and learn alongside her students.
Since 2010, she has also provided consulting and training services, primarily through word-of-mouth referrals. Despite never actively pursuing opportunities, she has been fortunate to work with a wide range of organizations seeking her expertise. These sessions have been highly valued by her clients, but they have also been transformative for her personally. She values the opportunity to bring together her unique combination of personal experience as a former high school educator, as a Black woman, and as a college instructor in adolescent development; her research experience, much of which informs the content she shares alongside widely recognized theories and concepts; and her extensive professional development and continuing education experience. She engages deeply with her audiences because she also studies how professionals in education and other fields learn most effectively.
Recently, following several sessions in 2024, two especially enthusiastic individuals, Allison and Jasmine, approached her with a heightened sense of urgency and a strong desire to continue learning. Allison, a program coordinator with extensive experience working with at-risk youth, reached out by email in January to express her eagerness to expand her knowledge. Following a February training session in West Philadelphia, Jasmine, a first-year teacher, asked for her social media information so she could continue learning from her work. When she explained that she had no social media accounts to share, Jasmine’s disappointment was immediate. She strongly encouraged her to find ways to share more of her work so that others could continue learning beyond the sessions themselves. She especially appreciated Jasmine’s persistence and the way she refused to let the conversation end without reassurance that there would be a way to stay connected. Hence, the resurrection of this website.
Their enthusiasm and urgency have encouraged her to explore new ways of sharing her knowledge more broadly while remaining deeply committed to her students and to academic life. Please continue reading to learn more about how organizations have benefited from her services.
